Hello and welcome to my website!
After about 13 years of painting and presenting my paintings and sketches on 3rd party websites, I decided to do one of my own. After all, what’s the point of being an artist if I cannot create my own website!
Although I am not formally trained in art, I believe that growing up in India and having lived in Botswana gave me a deep and abiding appreciation of colours. Having said that, I have been on various certificate courses with Central Saint Martin’s University, here in London and also on short courses in Indian ethnic art, which refined my skills in both realism and abstraction. I spent about a year studying expressionist art under Eva Gargulinska, which gave me the right skills to combine all the art forms which I had been doing in isolation earlier.
Even though I have been drawing and painting pretty much all my life, I started taking it seriously only when I moved to Gaborone, Botswana from Kerala, India. I moved to Botswana just after high school at that awkward age when others your age have friends and groups of their own already. What made it worse was that I wasn’t going to university (gasp!!!)! Instead, I was homeschooling for my ACCA.
So I started painting! And I have to say, I have never been more appreciative of the circumstances that started me on this course of life! I started off doing portraits and people at various activities like dancing, playing with their babies etc then moved on to wildlife, abstracts, Indian ethnic paintings and now do a lot of fusion art and mixed media work.
I hope you enjoy browsing through my works and hope to see you at one of my exhibitions. I would love to hear from you regarding this website and my portfolio; so please feel free to leave a note in my guestbook!
